Located 130 km (80 mi) west of Prince George, the town of Fraser Lake is one of Northern British Columbia's top destinations. The large lake itself is known for its popularity among fishing enthusiasts in both summer and winter months. Rainbow trout and lake trout lure the summer fisher while in winter ling cod and lake char call the lake home. Fly fishing is also popular in many surrounding areas; Stellako River in particular draws fly fishermen from all corners of the globe.

In addition to fishing, the Fraser Lake area is a haven for all brands of nature lovers. Hiking, canoeing, cross-country skiing, and mountain biking are all popular activities and there are several campgrounds in the area for those looking for the full natural experience. Comfortable cabins and hotels are also plentiful and popular with visitors.
